About Me

My photo
Yardley, Pennsylvania
When I was 23 I got my first job working in newspapers as a page designer. It didn't pay much but that was ok because I got to do what I loved, which was using words and photographs to tell stories of people's lives. In the end, I'm hoping to do the same with this blog, while at the same time, grow as a photographer, writer, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. Thanks for looking.

Eyes Wide Open at Penn Relays

Runners battle for position during the heats of the men's 4x400 during the Penn Relays at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Friday, April 25, 2014.

A couple of weeks ago I made my way to Franklin Field in Philly to shoot some action at the Penn Relays. The atmosphere at the meet was by far the most intense I've ever experienced at a track and field meet. The crowd was really into pretty much every race that went off on Friday -- from high schools to masters. Throw in a beautiful spring afternoon and it made for a great day!

Jim

Jim Mollosky, an endurance athlete and ultra runner, trains in Ithaca, New York on Thursday, April 10, 2014.

Last month I took a long overdue trip up to Ithaca, New York to catch up with my old friend and college roommate Jim. It was a quick but awesome trip. While there we ran some of the incredible trails Ithaca has to offer and Jim was kind enough to let me take some photographs of him training. Someone once said there is nothing quite like a friend from your youth. I was thinking about that line on the way back to Yardley that night. I hadn't seen Jim in over a decade, five minutes out on the trails and it was as if we were back on a run in college again. The trip also sent my running in a totally different direction and inspired me to find some trails around my own house. No more thumping the pavement for me. It just doesn't compare to running out on the trails. Thanks for everything, Jim. Looking forward to covering some more ground soon.
