Track Work

Earlier this fall I contacted Mike Rutt, one of America's top 800 meter runners, about chronicling some of his season as he makes a run for a spot on the Olympic team. It's already shaping up to be one of the cooler photo projects I've ever done. Aside from being an awesome runner, Mike's also a really cool person. Watching him do his thing on the track has helped inspire this washed up 400-meter runner to get back out there myself and take a crack at the world of Masters Track and Field. Thanks Mike.

Big Apple Shut Down

Weather forecasters were calling for Winter Storm Juno to be one New York City would never forget. And in a way they were right. In preparation for the blizzard government officials shut down the city on Monday night. No subways, no commuter trains and no traffic except for police and snow-clearing vehicles which basically turned the city into a ghost town when I got out of work at midnight. The storm tracked just a little farther east then expected leaving the city with some winds and less than 10 inches snow on the ground. Although not the winter blast they were calling for, I had a blast shooting the empty streets of midtown after work.

My awesome wife helped me kick off my 40s by planning a little surprise trip to Key West a couple of weeks ago. Spending time down there with her was a great way to celebrate the big 4-0. What made it even better  was that when we got there my best friend Josh and his wife Andrea also surprised me by making the trip down. I could not have asked for a better birthday. My favorite vacation spot with my favorite people! Thank you guys so much!

A few weeks ago my friend John asked me if I'd be interested in photographing

his recreational baseball team play their final game of the season. The two teams

rented out First Energy Park, home of the Lakewood Blue Claws for the night.

Sounding like a lot of fun to me I met up with him and we took the trip out to 

Lakewood. It was pretty cool to have the park all to our selves. While I got

some action pictures I liked from the game, the shot of John talking to his sons

before the start was one of my favorites of the night.

Fall Family Fun ...

We had an awesome time taking some fall portraits at Tyler State Park of my niece, brother-in-law and sister-in-law a few weeks ago. The park was absolutely packed with a lot of families that had the same idea. Which makes sense as the scenery there is awesome. Afterwards we hit Issac Newton's in Newtown for some dinner. Love that place. Thanks again for coming up guys. It was definitely one of my favorite days of the fall!

Aruba

A couple weeks ago Taren and I ran our first half marathon. We knew the training and the race would be fun but tough -- and they were. So we decided after registering for the race we would reward ourselves with a trip to Aruba. It was 40 degrees and really windy the day of our race. I think knowing that the next day we'd be chilling on a nice warm beach really helped both of us get through it. If you ever get the chance, check out Aruba as it's pretty great. Sitting here writing this now as winter begins to make an early start here in Yardley I'm wishing we were still there!

Joel

You know there's nothing like family. This is my cousin Joel. Being the awesome guy that he is, Joel came all the way down from Lake Placid, NY to watch our cat Murray and house while we're away for a few days. He's been in town a couple days now and I have had a great time catching up.  It seems like just yesterday we were getting together at my grandparents home various times of the year and hanging out by the bay. But in reality, it's been way too long! Thanks again for everything, Joel. So glad we've had some time to hang out.

With the leaves at peak season or just past it along with nice fall late-afternoon light, this is definitely the time for family photos. A couple weeks ago Taren and I made the short drive to Washington's Crossing to photograph my friend Dave and his family. We were lucky enough to have a nice fall afternoon and had an awesome time spending the afternoon with you guys! Thanks again!

I've known the Kenney family pretty much my whole life. So when my friend Dave e-mailed me earlier this year and asked Taren and I to photograph his and Jen's wedding it was a no-brainer. It turned out to be a perfect day for a wedding. Jen and Dave were completely relaxed for their big day and made us feel right at home. The celebration continued long into the night packed with awesome food, great people, great music and dance-offs! Thank you guys again for inviting us back home to share your day. We had a blast!
