We caught up with our old friends Alex, Renee and baby Ada today. Toward the end of the day I asked Alex if he wouldn't mind posing for a quick portrait.  He was a nice enough to say yes and this is what we came up with. Alex is a big dude and I was going for the "if you keep looking at me like that things are not going to end well for you" type look. Don't let the bad-ass look fool you though. Alex might be one of the nicest people I've ever met. All that said, I still wouldn't want to be on his bad side! Thanks for coming out guys we had a blast!

Thankful

We have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. A few months ago we bought our first house and adopted a 5-year-old cat Murray. We're healthy and our family is healthy. Honestly, if you have that in life everything else is gravy, pun intended. Can't wait to get to my sister-in-law Tracy's house later today for some awesome food and company! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

The Defense Rests.

Coming into this season Severna Park's cross country team had its sights set on repeating as state champions despite losing several varsity runners off last year's team. Today they accomplished that goal in dominating fashion by winning the meet with 38 points. The team has left a trail of records in its wake throughout the season. Today, senior Ryan Forsyth took home an individual state title after just missing last season with a second-place finish. I can't say thanks enough to head coach Josh Alcombright and the rest of the team and coaches for giving me access to document the title run. It's been a blast!

We decided to take a ride up toward Upper Makefield and check out the view from the top of Bowman's Hill Tower. It was definitely worth the trip even if it was pretty chilly at the top!

We took a trip down to south Jersey yesterday to visit Taren's brother Travis and family and knock out some family photos as well. We could not have asked for a better day for pictures as the light was nice and the awesome fall colors are still hanging around. After the session was done we all hit The Pour House in Collingswood, N.J. for some pretty awesome food. Thanks for inviting us down guys, we had a blast! 

Race Light

I got a chance to cover four cross country races last week down in Maryland. As the races stacked up the light got better and better on what turned out to be a really nice fall evening. Looking forward to covering the boys and girls teams in the state championships in Westminster, Maryland next Saturday.

Quarters

The Severna Park High School boys cross country team powers through a speed workout in Severna Park, Maryland on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in preparation for the Anne Arundel County Championships.

The Severna Park cross country team has been on quite a run over the last couple of years. With workouts like the one I saw them put on yesterday it's hard to wonder why. These guys cranked out 14 400s in 1:10 or less with minimal rest. My legs and lungs hurt just watching. The boys will put their training to the test in today's county championships at Annapolis High School in Annapolis, Maryland. Good luck fellas.

Lighting Things Up

I took a ride down to Delaware last week to photograph the Severna Park cross country team
in action again. The team kept things rolling with a victory in the White Creek Classic
invitational. Ryan Forsyth and Rhyss Burgett paced the field both breaking the course record
with their 1-2 finish.

I took a trip up to Kutztown University on Saturday to watch the Severna Park High School kick off their cross country season. The team won a state championship in Maryland last season and got things off to a nice start this year with a second-place finish in the invitational.
