New York Yankees starting pitcher Masahiro Tanaka delivers a pitch during the sixth inning of a game against the Oakland Athletics at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, N.Y. on Thursday, June 5, 2014.
I covered my first baseball game of the year for The Wall Street Journal on Thursday. Aside from giving up a solo first-inning home run, Masahiro Tanaka kept Oakland's top-scoring offense off the board for six innings and picked up his ninth win of the year. With just one loss this season, Tanaka is quickly becoming the Yankees new stopper as his performance helped the team snap a four-game skid. |
