About Me

My photo
Yardley, Pennsylvania
When I was 23 I got my first job working in newspapers as a page designer. It didn't pay much but that was ok because I got to do what I loved, which was using words and photographs to tell stories of people's lives. In the end, I'm hoping to do the same with this blog, while at the same time, grow as a photographer, writer, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. Thanks for looking.

Deja Blue

New York Mets right fielder Marlon Byrd reacts after striking out to end the Mets scoring threat in the eighth inning against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Citi Field in Queens, New York on Thursday, April 25, 2013.

I hit Citi Field again yesterday. Oddly enough, the game against the Dodgers unfolded very much like the last game I covered. Yesterday's game ended up being a tight pitching match between the Mets Jeremy Hefner and the Dodgers Hyun-Jin Ryu. Once again the Mets found themselves trailing by two runs in the bottom of the ninth. Once again they would homer to cut the lead to one run. This time by first baseman Ike Davis. However, Los Angeles was able to hold on after the homer for a 3-2 win.

Stretch Run

Madison Lloyd comes down the home stretch of the 400-meter dash during a track and field meet at Brockport Middle School in Brockport, New York on Thursday, April 18, 2013.

It was kind of surreal watching my niece compete in her first track meet last Thursday. I ran for the same middle school way back in the day when I was her age. I couldn't be more proud watching her out there -- first in the 55-meter hurdles and then later in the 400-meter dash. Keep it up Maddie!

Mr. Jackson Redux

Jackson Breslawski gives his Ferrari a test drive at his home in Rochester, New York on Wednesday, April 17, 2013.

I finally got a chance to work on some of the pictures I took from my trip back to Rochester last week. Got to spend a little time with one of my best friends Bob and his son Jackson on Wednesday. Great to see Bob as not only a friend but now a doting father to one cute son!

A Walk On The Ben Franklin

A biker rides across the Ben Franklin Bridge in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Sunday, April 14, 2013.

I took a trip down to Philadelphia today. I used to live there a few years back and it was nice walking around the old neighborhood. During the year that I was there I never got a chance to walk across the bridge. Today was a beautiful day for it, but the next time I go I'm gonna take the walk at sunset and bring along my 70-200 as well.

On Deck

San Diego Padres center fielder Cameron Maybin stands on deck during the eighth inning of a game against the New York Mets at Citi Field in Queens, New York on Thursday, April 4, 2013.

Late in the game yesterday the light got pretty good so I tried to take advantage of the shadows. I just wish a little more of Maybin's head would have been in the shaft of light and the usher wasn't in the middle of the frame.

Coming Up Short

New York Mets short stop Ruben Tejada pictured during a game against the San Diego Padres at Citi Field in Queens, New York on Thursday, April 4, 2013.

I jumped on the 7 train to cover another game at Citi Field today for The Wall Street Journal. Unfortunately there was not nearly as much offense as the first two games of the series. That said it was still a really fun time out there. The game got off to an interesting start when members of Cirque du Soleil through out the first pitch. From there though, the game was a pitcher's duel with the Mets Dillon Gee taking a tough loss.
